We offer sewing classes on garment construction, utilising commercial patterns (McCalls, KwikSew, Newlook, Simplicity). You will learn to use and customise the patterns to suit your own body shape.

In our individual classes, you will learn the tips and rules of operating your own sewing machine and overlocker.

  • How to operate and set your sewing machine.
  • How to operate and set your over-locker.
  • How to understand a commercial pattern
  • How to cut out a garment
  • How to adjust a pattern to your unique body shape

  • Advise on types of fabrics
  • Which needles to use on particular fabrics
  • How to use tools of the trade
  • (Rotary cutter, Handy-guage, French curves)
